Hi so, i've been putting this off for a bit but i think i need to say something about it

i run a bunch of stuff for free,, altbot, fuzzies.wtf, wellness-p.ing, ventboard.site and a few other things.

mostly i just quietly covered the costs of whatever the donations couldn't, using my own money. that was fine especially when i lived at home.

i moved to uni. now the gap kinda comes out of my food budget. which... is not ideal..

server and infrastructure costs run me $165/mo. donations have also been slowly going down recently,, which is totally fine, life happens,, but it's gotten to a point where i feel like i should say something rather than quietly struggle

if you use any of this stuff and can spare anything, even just a one time thing, it would actually really help

I made a thing called Vent Board because I feel like anything I say is too public to be vent-worthy.

When I vent I don't want a response. I don't want someone's take on my take. I don't want to worry about how it lands on my timeline or what it says about me. Fedi doesn't give me that. No where I looked really does.

I also think we judge opinions differently when they're attached to a person. And I think that makes us hide parts of ourselves instead of just... saying the thing.

So I made a board. Anonymous, text only. Posts get automatic content warnings so readers choose what they see, but nothing gets removed for being too dark or too ugly. IPs are hashed with a rotating key I destroy every few hours. I couldn't identify you even if asked.

I just wanted to have a place to put things into words so the rest of your life you can just be yourself.

I made a thing called Wellness Ping because someone I care about went silent and it took too long for anyone to notice. You get regular check-ins via email. If you don't respond, your emergency contacts get notified. Built it for anyone who might go missing and needs someone to notice: activists, journalists, researchers, solo folks.
